The 1989-1990 Sheehan hockey team finished its regular season with a record of 10-10. The team won only five out of its first fifteen games needing to win their last five games to qualify for the state tournament. The boys reached the state tournament for the first time by defeating Wilbur Cross 4-0 in the last game of the regular season. Although the team was defeated by Glastonbury in the tournament, the boys worked hard all season and should be proud of their accomplishment. The team was led by co-captains Matt Florczyk and leading scorer Pete Bennett. Terry Farrell, Paul Mazzara, Scott Brooks, Jeff Palmer and Kevin Caruth will all be missed next year. Coach Ray Crew should look to returning top scorers Joe DiPalma, Ralph Shaw and experienced goalie Erik Limosani for the base of a strong team in 1990. These players along with Fran Marcuss, Pete DiPalma, Nick Farone and Mike Florczyk will be looked to for a successful season in 1990.
