The 1995 boys hockey team finished the season with a 7-11-0 record. Although the numbers do not seem very impressive, they do not tell half of the story. Led by senior co-captains Anthony DiPalma and Kevin Sandals, the team had a season which exceeded everyone's expectations except their own. With only two standout players in Kevin and Anthony, Coach Crew looked toward his experienced core of juniors and sophomores. Mike McCabe, Bill Florczyk and Dave Nielsen filled spots in the starting line-up and each had an outstanding year. Coach Crew was also given a few surprises, the biggest coming in the smallest package. Freshman Paula Dady became the first female in Sheehan High School history to play on the boys hockey team and was a key defensive player on the team. She had an outstanding first year and with her talent the sky is the limit for her. Another surprise was the amount of first-year senior tryouts. Greg McGovern, Matt Berasi and Todd Modica all filled holes left by the 11 graduated seniors of last year. Greg stopped pucks, Matt scored goals and Todd delivered hard hits. Although this year's team was not as talented as those in the past, what they lacked in skill they made up for in heart, and for that reason they were able to have the season that they did. Anthony, who scored 33 goals and had 21 assists, and Kevin, who scored 28 goals and had 19 assists, were both selected to the First Team All SCC Housy All Star Team. Congratulations to them and the rest of the team for an outstanding year.
